Twenty Four ...

... of North Carolina's finest nurse-midwives and students participated in the North Carolina Chapter of the American College of Nurse-Midwives' Lobby Day on March 3, 2009.

Our message of access to care and barriers to nurse-midwifery practice were highligted in the visits with our legislators. A display was also staffed in the legislative building lobby highlighting the practices of CNMs across the state as well as our educational program at ECU.

Getting together throughout the day, we realize that this part of our practice is crucial and can be fun. Speak with your colleagues who participated to learn of their experience. All CNMs are encouraged to establish a relationship with their elected officials, both state and national.
